ABOUT US

PORDAC stands for Protection of the Rights of Differently Abled Children and is a registered NGO founded by Manjir Gupta in 2009 with the mission of working to secure the rights of differently-abled children. PORDAC's aims are two-fold:

(1) to provide a safe environment where children with special needs will be able to nurture their abilities and to create inclusion programs to promote a sense of acceptance and empathy in other children towards those with special needs and

(2) to spread awareness and advocate for the rights of differently abled children.

OUR MISSION

PORDAC believes in and strives to provide quality education with a focus on long-term inclusion and rehabilitation for differently abled children, while spreading awareness and advocating for the protection of their rights.

OUR VISION

We hope to create value for every child by developing individualized programs through regular assessment and evaluations by professionals. PORDAC works hard to achieve rehabilitation for differently abled children with various disabilities and help expand their social and educational opportunities now and in the future.

"Morever, her dream of social inclusion for her son in a regular school was dashed time and time again. The idea of setting up an NGO that would give Aranya and others like him a happy education took shape."

SUMMER PROGRAM

Parivartan School also offers a program which allows students to continue developing their skills in the summer months. This program emphasizes social interaction through connections with staff, volunteers, and other students.  The summer program involves activites such as arts and crafts, baking, sports, and also features several field trips for children to expand their social skills outside of the classroom.

MANJIR'S STORY

When Manjir's son Aranya was diagnosed with autism, her life changed forever. She watched as he struggled with the challenges that came with autism and witnessed how many schools did not have the resources and expertise to support Aranya. After the public humilation of being asked to leave with her son in front of all the other parents and teachers due to his behavior, Manjir decided she wanted to create a safe and supportive learning environment for Aranya and other children like him. She quit her job as a banker and founded PORDAC to do just that. Because of her personal experiences and connection, this is a cause that Manjir is very passionate about and she continues to strive to bring hope to differently abled children and their families.
