Blessin Varkey -
Assistive Technology Specialist
Blessin is an assistive technology intervention specialist and specializes in iPad and computer-based intervention for differently abled children. PORDAC aims to strengthen & harness the potential(s) of Individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders through the iPad and Computer based intervention in their early years of life to give them a chance to become productive citizens of society.
Mr. Varkey has previously worked with Deakin University, Australia and IBM Research, India on two research papers focusing on technology based education of special needs. He did his B. Tech in Computer Science from Allahabad and was a Masters fellow in Artificial Intelligence at the University of St Andrews, United Kingdom.
Dr. B.S. Neemrot - Occupational Therapist
Occupational therapy is a great way for students to relieve stress, fine tune their motor functions, and learn how to properly act in social situations. Most differently abled students have very weak core muscles, making it more challenging for them to control their movements. Occupational therapy strengthens these core muscles to improve posture and mobility. In addition to improving their strength, occupational therapy is a great way to get kids moving, teach them vital social skills, and exert energy in a positive way. Occupational therapy improves social, physical, and emotional behaviors.
Dr. Neemsot has been working for five years at reputable special schools and hospitals in and around Delhi providing occupational therapy. He has his Pt. D.D.V. LPH from Delhi University and his JMC from the College of Jaipur. He will be offering individual occupational therapy sessions for differently abled students from the ages of 2 1/2 to 18.
