In India, there is a tremendous lack of awareness and misunderstanding about autism, especially among the medical professionals, who may either misdiagnose or underdiagnose the condition. 

 

     PORDAC is dedicated to giving the support and resources needed for success to differently abled children at an individual level.  Public and private school systems most often do not have the resources to provide special education programs, and thus differently abled children have almost nowhere to turn when looking for an education. Oftentimes, these kids will be taken advantage of. They may face both physical and sexual abuse but, because they are often non-verbal, they have no way of communicating this abuse if they do not have the proper education background. There is still little awareness and resources for these children and their families but PORDAC is working hard to change this and we are so proud and passionate about our mission! What's not to love?! PORDAC advocates for the education of all differently abled children. Parivartan School not only teaches children with autism, but also kids who have Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Aspergers. Because we work with only a small group of students, we are able to give them each the special attention they need and the proper amount of teaching support. We hope that as Parivartan School grows, we will be able to reach more and more families to spread awareness and give more differently abled children the tools to succeed and a brighter future that every child deserves.
